【PERSONAL PROFILE】

Dr. Yanjian Liao graduated from University of Dundee in UK (Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, 2006.10). Then he joined Chongqing University (2006.11) to carry out teaching/research work. He has presided and participated 6 Projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 15 Projects supported by Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Chongqing Science and Technology Commission, etc. He has published about 20 papers in journals such as Micromachines, Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry, Chinese Journal of Scientific Instrument etc. Moreover, he has applied and obtained about 30 patents of inventions. Current courses taught by Dr. Liao include Medical Devices Design, Embedded System and its Application in Medical Information Processing, Biomedical Electronics, Application of Microcontroller in Medical Instruments, etc. Under his supervision, the students from his research group have won many national, provincial and ministerial awards in the subject competitions such as National Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition.

【RESEARCH INTERESTS】

1. Innovative medical instrument design:Comprehensive application of engineering techniques such as circuits, machinery, sensing and computer to design the functional and intelligent modern medical instrument in line with human factors engineering.

2. Biomedical smart sensor and micro-system design:With microfluidic chips as the carrier, medical smart materials as the core, combined with smart processing technology to carry out design research of biomedical smart sensors and micro-system.
