PERSONAL PROFILE

Dr.Wei Jigraduated fromShanghai Jiao TongUniversity (Ph.D. inMaterialsScienceandEngineering, 2016.12). After the completion of postdoctoral research atTel AvivUniversity,hejoined Chongqing University to carry out teaching/research workat 2021.

One of thefundamental scientific issues is the essence andsynergicprinciple of supramolecular interactions during biomolecular self-assembly. Inspired by the self-assembly of biomacromolecules (e.g. protein, peptide), he has constructed a serial of amino acid and short peptide based functional nanomaterials through supramolecular self-assembly. The process and mechanism of molecular self-assembly are explored and thepotentialapplications of these materials in fields of bio- and nano-technology are further proved.In the research area,hehas30 published papers from peer reviewed journals includingNat. Rev. Chem.,JACS,Adv. Mater.,Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.,ACS Nano,Materials Todayetc.

1.Amino acid and peptide based molecular materials: self-assembly, properties, and optoelectronic applications.

2.Rationaldesignof supramolecular hydrogels for applications in cell culture, cell imaging, anti-bacterial, optoelectronics, tissue engineering, etc.
