【PERSONAL PROFILE】

Dr. Zhang graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor's degree in engineering (2007) and a doctorate degree in materials science and engineering (2012). Then, he was engaged in postdoctoral research at the Functional Materials Research Center of the Åbo Akademi University, Finland. In 2014, he was appointed as a researcher by the “Hundred Talents Program” of Chongqing University. In the past 5 years, he has presided 4 research projects including general/youth Projects supported National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), general Project supported by Chongqing. He has published 50 papers (in journals such as Adv. Funct. Mater, Nanoscale Horizon., Acta Biomaterialia, etc) which have been cited over 1800 times, with an h-index of 27. Many papers were selected as cover/hot articles of journals, or highlighted by media such as MaterialsViews China, x-mol, etc. Moreover, he has applied and obtained 3 patents of inventions. Current courses taught by Dr. Zhang include “Biomaterails”, “Physical Chemistry”, “Nanobiomaterials and Technology”, etc. He has supervised 10 undergraduate students, 15 master students and 5 Ph.D. students, including 2 students who won the Chongqing University Distinguished Master/ /Undergraduate Thesis prize, 9 graduate students who won National Scholarship, and 12 students who won the honor of "Excellent Graduate Student of Chongqing University".

【RESEARCH INTERESTS】

1. Interfacial Engineering of Self-Assembled Nanobiomaterials: the self-assembly and interface engineering of composite nanostructures, the controllable preparation, new physical properties and new effects of the synergistic and energy coupling of elements on nanointerface, the relationship and characteristics between multi-level structures and complex physical and chemical properties, scientific basis for efficient loading, controllable delivery and intelligent detection of biological functional molecules.

2. Biological Effects of Smart Composite Nanomaterials: structure-activity relationship of composite structures and biological application performance of smart response nanomaterials, technical methods and strategies for gene / drug delivery technology, biological imaging, in vitro diagnosis and combined therapy of diseases.
